If you want to fly from point ‘A’ to point ‘B,’ you can often find a flight to from ‘A’ to ‘C’ with a stop at ‘B.’

Here are a few scenarios going from Great to Ok:
If you are flying on a one way ticket with only a carry on, you have absolutely no problem getting off at point ‘B’ and walking out of the airport. No one will check you on the way out and say, “Sorry you must fly to New York you can not get off in Chicago.”
You are traveling on a one way ticket with a checked bag. Different airlines will have different attitudes. Call the airline a few days before say (replace with your own destinations) “Hi, I booked a flight from Miami to Montreal with a stop in New York. I am no longer interested in going to Montreal because I just broke up with my boyfriend who lives in Montreal (or any other excuses) so I’ve decided that I would like to stop in New York and see the museums blah blah blah. When I get to the check in at Miami airport can I ask them to check my bag only to NY?” ….If they say yes than you have got no problem. If they say No, or that we will charge you a fee…say “what the hell I may as well fly than to Montreal”….Now move to 3.
You arrive at the airport and pleasantly check in your bag to Montreal (knowing that you will get of in NY) when you arrive in NY you go to the service counter and say you are feeling ill, very nauseous have a bad headache, you may be dying, you are petrified of flying, you so a ghost, etc…and can not fly to Montreal. “Please can you get me my bag.” The good news for you is that your bag can not fly without you, and they will get it for you. What is important is that you keep them feeling sorry for you. They’ll be thinking; poor girl, she bought a non- refundable ticket to Montreal, no she is sick, she’ll need to buy another ticket, let’s just get her, her bag. Do not smile are look like you a screwing them, because they may have a way to screw you back. If they realized you have done this on purpose, they may charge you some fees, cancel your air miles, all extremely unlikely but why cause yourself problems. Off course this is probably not worth doing to save $10-$20 unless you just enjoy screwing the airlines. However many have successfully used this to save between $100-$500 on a ticket price.
Do you think airlines charge fair prices for flights?
